The Bigfork Museum of Art & History was founded in 1983 the roots of the organization trace back to 1977 when a group of forward-thinking individuals saw the need to foster the arts and established a community center in the small Hamlet of Bigfork. The group purchased and renovated a gas station and proceeded to turn it into the Bigfork Art & Cultural Center which is now the Bigfork Museum of Art & History. We are a not-for-profit corporation bringing exhibits, programs and education opportunities for all ages. The Main Gallery features a rotating exhibition schedule featuring Montana artists in the Main Gallery throughout the year. The Museum hosts workshops, lecture series, films and performances. The upper gallery is the home of 100 years of photographs of Bigfork from 1900 to present-day with special featured exhibits on Bigfork life.

Montana's first winery established in 1984 located in Dayton, MT on Flathead Lake. UC Davis trained Montana wine pioneer Tom Campbell consistently crafts international gold medal winning wines. Mission Mountain Winery is a family owned winery located on US Hwy 93 on the West Shore of Flathead Lake (the largest natural fresh water lake west of the Mississippi), in Dayton Montana. We are near Wild Horse Island and there is even access to the winery by boat. The Winery currently produces approximately 6,500 cases of wine a year. The wines produced include: Vin Gris, Riesling, Monster Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, a "blush" wine called Sundown, an exceptional Muscat Canelli dinner wine, Nouveaux Riche a dessert Muscat Canelli, Ice Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Monster Red a Merlot - Cabernet blend, Malbec, Syrah, Cream Sherry, Port, Cocoa Vin ( a chocolate port, and Blanc de Noir Champagne. The vineyards in Montana grow Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and small amounts of Riesling, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer. The other grapes are grown in our own vineyards in the Rattlesnake Hills of Washington. It is amazing that some of the finest wines in the world come from this small winery in northwest Montana. The wines have met with excellent acceptance by Montana Residents and visitors to the winery from all 50 States and 30 Foreign Countries as well reviews from national and international competitions and wine writers.
