BLSC is a nonprofit organization and the oldest local women's service club. Its focus is to help identify and assist in meeting needs of the community through fundraising activities. All monies raised are donated within Bigfork and the greater Flathead Valley. A new project for the club is Threads, a volunteer community resource for Bigfork High and Middle School students. Through a cooperative effort with the schools, homeless and/or students living at or below the poverty level are referred to the Threads "store" located in the Bigfork Community Center to select, free of charge, clothing and personal care items that have been donated by the Bigfork Community. The club has a membership of fun, enthusiastic and involved women. The sole requirement to be a member is the desire to be of service to the community. New members are welcome! Meetings are the first Monday of the month at 5 pm, September through June and are most often held at the Chamber office.

Bigfork Toastmasters club meets at noon in the basement of Glacier Bank on the first and third Thursdays of every month. A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere. There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another's presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program's success. Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure. Members learn communication skills by working in the Competent Communication manual, a series of 10 self-paced speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking.
